Who we are

The Money Class ("we", "us", "our") is a financial literacy education provider based in the United Kingdom. We deliver workshops, coaching, and resources to children, parents, schools, and community groups.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect and why

1. Contact form enquiries

When you send us a message via our website contact form, we collect:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Your telephone number
• The school or organisation you are enquiring about
• Your preferred event date
• The content of your message

Why: To respond to your enquiry and discuss booking a workshop or event.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — responding to a direct request you have made.

2. Membership sign-up

When you join our free membership community, we collect:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Your role (e.g. parent, teacher, school administrator)

Why: To send you free resources, financial education tips, and early access to new programmes.
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) — you actively opted in by completing the sign-up form. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email we send you.

3. Website usage data

We may collect anonymised data about how visitors use our website (such as pages visited and time spent) using analytics tools. This data cannot identify you individually.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests — to understand how our website is used so we can improve it.

How we store your data

Our website is hosted on Netlify, a third-party platform based in the United States. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify in accordance with their privacy policy, which you can read at netlify.com/privacy. Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We do not store your personal data on our own servers beyond what is necessary to respond to you. Once an enquiry or sign-up is processed, data is retained only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.

How long we keep your data

• Contact form enquiries: Up to 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, unless you become a client (in which case we retain records for up to 6 years for legal and accounting purposes).
• Membership subscribers: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever comes sooner.
• Analytics data: Up to 26 months, in anonymised form.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share it only with:

• Netlify — our website hosting and form processing provider
• Email service providers — used to send membership newsletters (we will update this policy when a provider is selected)
• Legal or regulatory authorities — only where we are required to do so by law

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

• Right of access — you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data

Children's data

Our website is aimed at parents, educators, and schools — not directly at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Workshop attendance data relating to children is collected and processed only by schools or parents on the child's behalf, and is subject to separate data sharing agreements with those organisations.
